MP backs PVCLT in plans for peninsula

Posted in: News

Trustees from Peninsula Villages Community Land Trust were thrilled to meet Member of Parliament for Suffolk Coastal and Minister for the Environment Therese Coffey recently to discuss its plans for housing.

The opportunity allowed the organisation to address its concerns relating to affordable housing in the six villages.

Subjects discussed included future financial help, potential sites for development and future plans of the Trust.

Trustees were also able to give a progress report on the construction at the School Lane site in Bawdsey, scheduled to be complete by the end of 2020.

The scheme is the first of our developments, made possible thanks to a grant from East Suffolk Council.

Within the development of 13 homes will be four affordable homes that will remain owned by the community forever and create local homes for people with a strong local connection.

The new homes will be built on the site in the village close to the primary school and comprise two two-bed and two one-bed houses, all built to the same standard as those going on the open market.
